Activities

To start with: drumming and dance, scoot trips through salt flats and baobab country, fishing and bird-watching, wildlife reserves and cultural excursions, and just about every water sport imaginable.

The right combination

Somone lends itself to a wide variety of activities. An expansive beach leads to the lagoon, which is surrounded by miles of salt flats that eventually give way to red earth and ancient baobabs. Unlike Saly and other towns further south, Somone backs up to 700 hectares of protected nature. Just north of us, there is another reserve in Popenguine. The entire area is renowned for its birdlife.
